Shanghai restaurant REVIEW:
Club Vietnam

Opened: October 27, 2006.

What: Chic Vietnamese restaurant on the top floors of the Foreign Culture Club, a new collection of Mediterranean food, lounges, patisserie and Southeast Asian cuisine.

Look: The restored villa’s top two floors have been given a modern facelift, as diners sit in rooms backlit with cool greens and blues that emanate from the intricately carved walls.

Food: Vietnamese salads, crisp fresh springrolls, curries served with housebaked, crunchy baguettes and a mix of European and Asian desserts. A huge variety of food on offer. Also features a very strong selection of wines, due in part to its European partner downstairs.

People: The FCC is self-consciously hip – the crowds might follow suit.

Bill: About ¥200 per person, including a cocktail.
