A joint project by Bad News Records Japan and MSI Japan, MAO Livehouse is the city's top class venue for live music shows and DJ parties. It moved to Chongqing Nan Lu from Red Town in March 2011, and the new space is even bigger, easily accomodating 1,000 people at one show.

The two-floor main room remains dark and warehousy, armed with high-standard sound and lighting equipments. To add some different flavor, a separate lounge area is set up with a display of Chinese antique furniture and decorations, where you can order a drink for 25rmb or chit chat with friends.

MAO Livehouse is open for events only, and you can always expect a solid live show with a packed floor when it's open.
