SHANGHAI BAR

JC Billiards Bar

The buzz: Another pool hall slash bar? You ask. Well, JC Biliards is a bit different, because it is run by Jennifer Chen (hence the name), multiple championship winner and the top ranked WPA player in 1999.

The look: JC Billiards used to be a pool hall only, but with the recent addition of a clubbing area, it has transformed itself into a party paradise as well. The size of the whole venue is huge, so there is enough space for both functions.

If you happen to be a fan of Jennifer Chen, you can spend some time browsing her trophy cups and medals on display near the entrance. If not, go straight to the newly renovated club area with a DJ booth, proper sound system and a well stocked bar. Billards enthusiasts should be rejoiced to see the 9-ball billards tables (68rmb per hour) at the back area, while more serious players can book a private room coming with a billard table and stylish furniture.

The music: Commercial hip hop, R&B and pop.

The crowd: Billards fans and fashionable clubbers.

The drinks: Mixed drinks start from 50rmb.

Why you'll be back: For the convenience that you can drink, dance and play pool in the same venue.
