Alchemist Introduces New Bar Manager
Since opening earlier this year, Alchemist has been at the forefront of modern mixology, introducing hand crafted cocktails to Shanghai. Changes are afoot with the introduction of a new bar manager and bar tender to the fold.

There's good news and bad news coming from Sinan Mansions. The bad news is that Alchemist's founding bar manager Ryan Noreiks is leaving the team. The good news comes in the form of his replacement, Chris, who hails from Melbourne. Chris's most recent posts were at Berlin Bar and Neil Perry’s The Waiting Room. His encyclopedic knowledge of cocktails and molecular techniques is visible in his cocktail list, which includes Caramel & Wasabi, Roast Duck, Wattleseed & Dandelion Root, and Socialist Side No. 2 (London Dry Gin stirred with Yuzu, White Peach, Basil, and Homemade Ginger Beer). Chris was a finalist in the 42 Below Cocktail World Cup, Glenfiddich Untouchables, Appleton Estate Competition, andwinner of the Green Chartreuse, Yellow Chartreuse and Campari Liquid Art Competitions. 

Another fresh face is Yao, Alchemist's new head bartender. Yao comes from Houston, Texas, and has Shanghainese ancestry. His most recent post was at the famous Anvil Bar & Refuge in Houston Texas. Yao's signature cocktails include “Royal Kris”, “Zydeco Fiddle” and “the Brave”.
